The Kisumu Lightning Developer Bootcamp was an intensive 5-day journey of learning, building, and innovation. As the Project Manager and Lead Software Engineer, I spearheaded my team's efforts in a high-stakes hackathon where we emerged as winners. Our project, SatGate (https://satgate-2.onrender.com/), is built on the philosophy of "Stop spam with Sats." It adds a tiny economic cost to contact forms—real leads won't mind paying 5 sats, but automated spammers find it prohibitively expensive. Key Features: - Proof of Intent: A paid message is a verified message, requiring an economic commitment before reaching your inbox. - Lightning Fast: Powered by the Bitcoin Lightning Network for instant, global payments with near-zero fees. - Easy Integration: A simple iframe widget that works across WordPress, Webflow, or custom React apps. How it works: 1. Create a protected form: Set your price (5-10 sats) and generate a unique embed code. 2. Embed on your site: Paste the iframe snippet into your contact page. 3. Receive verified messages: Paid messages appear instantly in your dashboard, completely bypassing junk mail. This project demonstrates our commitment to building technical solutions for the future of the web, securing communication through decentralized economic incentives.
